Traction and Tractor Performance |

This paper develops an understanding of tractor performance
as affected by tractive performance. It begins with a basic
development of wheel mechanics and traction parameters and covers
traction testing, presentation and analysis of test results
and how they affect the performance of the tractor in the field.
Also included are methods of predicting the in-field performance
of tractors based upon the performance of the tires and data
from official performance tests. These predictive methods will
be demonstrated and provided in a user-friendly spreadsheet.
